At Hartwell Dentistry we pride ourselves on being able to provide current and advanced options for all your dental treatments.
Today’s Dental Camberwell blog is about the Invisalign system and how it may work for you.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is the virtually an invisible way to straighten your teeth, improve function and improve your smile without the need for fixed braces. The Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to move your teeth over time and give you the smile you’ve always wanted.
Will it work for me?
Invisalign can be used to successfully treat a wide range of issues including, crooked, crowded or spaced teeth. With over 1.4 million people treated with Invisalign, it has successfully helped people with minor and major crowding.
Will it fit my life?
Invisalign is made to fit your lifestyle, not restrict it. Invisalign is clear and virtually invisible (even up close), so most people won’t even notice you’re straightening your teeth. And the ability to remove the aligners is an advantage traditional orthodontic treatments with brackets don’t offer.
How much does Invisalign cost?
In most cases, the cost and the treatment time of invisalign is comparable to traditional braces. However, as with most medical treatment, only your dentist can determine the time, cost, based on your needs. If you have dental insurance cover, it is normally covered to the same extent that as conventional braces. We also have an in house payment plan to offer with regular ongoing instalments to spread the cost over time. A quote can be given on your first initial consultation with Dr Horng.
Process:
Step 1.
Examination with Dr Dana Horng to assess suitability.
This may include detailed upper and lower impressions and photos. Hartwell Dentistry then sent the records to the world’s finest laboratory in the USA. This takes approximately 6-8weeks for the results to return.
Step 2.
Consultation with Dr Horng to see the projected result of the invislign treatment.
During this session, you will see a computerised animation of your teeth before and after treatment. Upon your approval, your customised aligners will be sent to us. This can take another 2-4 weeks. At the conclusion of this consult, you will have a series of consecutive appointments made for you. You will then return to the practice approximately every 4-6weeks to have your ongoing treatment.
Step 3
Upon completion, so that the teeth do not move back to their original crowding position, a retention similar to the Invisalign system is to be worn. This retention period will be discussed with Dr Horng on your consultation appointment.
