The hygienist was knowledgeable, clear , kind and gentle. I highly recommend Hartwell Dentistry and because of their excellent skills and service I am no longer frightened of dentist visits. Update Nov 2024 And just had another great visit to the dentist . Matthew a dentist there fitted a crown for me and that was followed by a hygiene appointment The process was smooth and painless . Why doesn't the new patient exam include a clean like other dental clinics?

At Hartwell Dentistry, we do not believe in rushing into treatments. Every smile is different. A 6-month clean is very different from one after years without care.

That is why your first appointment is all about you. We carefully assess your oral health, listen to your concerns and understand your goals.

Only then can we create a personalised care plan and recommend the right best steps, based on what you actually need and not what’s bundled in to a one-size-fits-all offer.

What happens after the assessment?

After your personalised appointment, we provide a clear explanation of your oral health, present your full plan (including costs and timelines), and let you decide how you would like to move forward.

If you need any additional help or more information, you can book a complimentary 30-minute follow-up with us.

I get anxious about visiting the dentist. How can you help me?

We specialise in helping nervous patients. We will explain every step before starting, go at your own pace and use gentle tools designed to reduce discomfort.

We also offer noise-cancelling headphones, music, movies and optional sedation to help you feel comfortable.

What payment options do you offer?

We offer flexible payment plans through a third-party payment provider for treatments over $1,500, starting from as low as $200 per month. Our team will walk you through all the details after your assessment, so you know what’s possible before starting any treatment.

Which health funds will cover the Holistic Dental Health Assessment?

If your policy includes dental extras, you will be able to claim this assessment. Your exact rebate will depend on your health fund and the level of extras cover you have.
